Hello! My name is Miss Jankowitsch!

I am an aspiring elementary educator whose lifelong dream is to teach the young minds that will shape our future. Exciting News!

This upcoming school year I will be a first grade long term substitute in the Pennridge School District! I will have my classroom until the end of January. I could not be more thankful for this opportunity to work beside awesome colleagues and an amazing principal! I just completed new teacher orientation and am eager to open up my room to wonderful little minds! I cannot wait to share all that lies ahead. Stay posted for updates during this experience!

Instructional Assistant

February 2018- June 2019

I was able to work in the Southern Lehigh School District as an instructional assistant following my time as a substitute teacher. Here, I taught reading intervention to grades K-3, following curriculums that met the individual needs of the various groups. I also facilitated guided reading groups in addition to pushing into classrooms to assist teachers.  To me, this was the perfect stepping stone to becoming a classroom teacher as I was able to plan and manage groups on a smaller scale. I am confident that this wonderful experience that I am having is preparing me for the future.

Substitute Teaching

December 2017- February 2018

After graduating from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, I began substitute teaching in the North Penn School District, the same district that I completed my student teaching in! My time here was wonderful, as I was able to learn how to be flexible, think on my toes, as well as follow lesson plans. I was able to gain experiences in grades 1-6 as well as be the Title I reading specialist. Being able to communicate with my mentors and see familiar faces made this working environment great for me to spread my wings for the first time.

Student Teaching Experience

August-December 2017

I have most recently completed my student teaching experience at Hatfield Elementary School in the North Penn School District. Under the guidance of a wonderful cooperating teacher in a first grade classroom, I was given the opportunity to grow as an educator and gain experience in an authentic teaching setting. I was able to teach all of the subjects during my time at this school all while implementing age appropriate classroom management skills.

Assistant Group Supervisor/ Summer Camp Lead Teacher

May 2016-Present

I continue to seasonally work at The Children's Learning Center in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania. My time at this center has given me an array of different experiences in teaching as well as working with different age groups. I have worked with students aged 6 months to 6th grade and have thoroughly enjoyed each day I have walked into this learning center. For three years, I have been one of the lead teachers for the summer camp program which allows me to plan and implement lessons and sensory activities for the students when they are not involved in free play. I have also learned much about teamwork and parent/teacher interaction which has greatly prepared me for the teaching profession.
